The Gulf Disaster - Yesterday's News???

So, another post on the environment and this one is about the gulf oil spill. I know, I know, it's already been done, give it a rest! Well, it isn't done and nobody should give it a rest!
When I was growing up as a young man I would laugh and joke about the tree huggers and bunny buggers making such a fuss about the environment. I did this not out of spite or hate, but out of sheer ignorance and arrogance. If it wasn't affecting me directly, it just wasn't happening. Shame on me for my ignorance and arrogance of youth. After half a lifetime of  travel in all 50 states and halfway around the world, I have learned people are ignorant only because they choose to be. You cannot blame ignorance on lack of education. We all have the ability to question what is right, what is wrong, and most have a moral compass to guide the way. When we choose to ignore the obvious, it is no longer ignorance but rather arrogance and denial. When the moral compass is discarded for profit and  personal gain, that is criminal.
