Good Bye To Old Friends

At Amazon, E-Book Sales Outpace Hardbacks

Here is an ominous sign of the digital future and the end of a "Good" book. There is more to a good book than just the tale that lies between the covers. A good book has a certain feel and smell to it that cannot be described but rather has to be experienced. Perhaps it is the essence of the author's ability to stir our senses beyond the realm of reality into the senses of the imagination that makes a "Good" book. But, for this person, physically turning the page is part of the process. It is hard to imagine having to explain a "page turner" to a future generation but in 10-20 years that will most likely be the norm. It will truly be a sad day when a library is a server filled with digital media and a place to find real books is a museum of nostalgic paper and ink!

Meanwhile, back at the library, someone is scanning the pooch!

   ciao

  1. No problem just go to the halo-deck and run a library program.
