Wishful Thinking

   Wouldn't it be nice if:
  1. When a President is elected ALL the people gave him/her a chance and supported him/her as CINC until the next election cycle.
  2. Everyone showed proper respect when addressing the President regardless of their like or dislike of him/her.
  3. Congress actually cooperated and got some work done instead of continually whining and bickering like a bunch of spoiled school children.
  4. You could see someone say something nice about their political peers instead of hate filled rhetoric designed to confound and confuse instead of enlighten and enthuse.
  5. Being elected to a public service office was a privilege, not a career.
  6. Political candidates actually meant what they said instead of saying anything to get elected.
  7. All candidates were given equal time on National media to state their case and then the people voted.
   Wouldn't it be nice!

What's In It For ME? Social Ramblings...

"What's in it for me?" That should be our new national slogan! After all, that seems to be what everyone is worried about this election cycle, and everyday living for that matter. Should it matter if those less fortunate than others are without health care or the basic necessities to live? Is it wrong to expect the opulent to help their less fortunate brothers and neighbors? Or, are all those needy folk just freeloaders and dead beats looking for a handout from their well to do brothers of humanity? Government creates programs to help the less fortunate, corporate sector creates grants and donations to do the same. Yet, in every case there is an expected return on their investment. Politicians expect to gain support for election, corporations also look for support for their product or public image. One supports these activities with Tax monies and the other with Tax free monies. Monies, when it comes right down to it, monies are what it is all about. Who has it, who doesn't, and what to do with it to make more while appearing to care about the less fortunate that actually make the monies!

What if everyone worked for the greater good of the whole? *GASP* What a Horrible concept! That would be....SOCIALISM! Shhhhh...Don't even utter that dirty word too loudly lest you be labeled a Socialist and usurper of freedom and all that is to be gained by it. True socialism means caring about your brothers as much as you care about yourself.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the pooch shared his kibbles with the cat!

Phreaking Phone Freaks on the Verizon

So, I bought a prepaid phone from Verizon for the trip North. I bought $50 worth of airtime via a prepaid card and had it added at the Verizon store by a Verizon representative. I should have had $50 on my phone available for airtime, right? Wrong! Verizon in all their infinite wisdom decided without my consent I needed a $20 a month text bundle, which I found out about in retrospect because I called to see where my $50 of airtime went. In addition to the text bundle I was also informed any unused minutes/money left on my account at the end of the billing cycle is lost if I don't make a $20 payment to my account each month. This is called the "Pay As You Go" plan. When I told them that isn't right their response was; "How do you expect us to make money!" Hmmm, I thought that was what they were doing when I bought the phone and airtime! Not! Also, one other little tidbit they don't mention, and this goes for AT&T as well as the rest of the Prepaid service providers, you only get half the tower coverage for prepaid phones. This of course translates into more roaming fees and about $3 per minute depending on the area. These are just the hidden little weasel words, omissions, and coverage cover-ups I encountered in my brief stint with Verizon and prepaid phone phreaking! Where am I going with this little rant?

Only to say: Buyer Beware! When they say "Can You Hear Me Now" make sure you Really do hear the whispers between the tag line!

If you are not using Firefox, the first question that comes to mind is; Why? I could cite many advantages for using Firefox but I will just give one today...Ad Block Plus! No Ads, Period "." Not even those annoying new ads that Youtube so surreptitiously inserted into their videos. At least I think they are new but I could be wrong because I didn't see them until recently while being forced to use Internet Exploder to download Firefox.

If You Are Reading This I Haven't Been Neutralized...Yet!

Here we have one of the most hotly debated and contentious issues in our country. Freedom! Pay attention folks because there are some very nefarious participants here that are willing to spend whatever amount of $$ it takes to control what you See, Read, and most importantly, your Freedom to choose!

The participants:

The Entertainment Juggernaut ( Big $$ )

On one side we have the mu$ic indu$try, the movie indu$try, and many foreign $ilent partner$ that would love to $ee any form of free $peech that doesn't $uit them $ilenced forever.

The Consumer ( AKA The People )

On the other side we have the ignorant, the indifferent, and a very active minority that are trying to awaken the ignorant and indifferent before their voice is silenced by greed and manipulation.

Fight for Senate antipiracy bill rages

"Perhaps most important to copyright owners, the DOJ would also have the power to prevent U.S. citizens from accessing accused sites based overseas by ordering Internet service providers to black out those sites. The government could order Google or Visa to cease doing business with the alleged pirate sites."

Censorship of the Internet Takes Center Stage in "Online Infringement" Bill

"This is a censorship bill that runs roughshod over freedom of speech on the Internet. Free speech is vitally important to democracy, which is why the government is restricted from suppressing speech except in very specific, narrowly-tailored situations. But this bill is the polar opposite of narrow — not only in the broad way that it tries to define a site "dedicated to infringing activities," but also in the solution that it tries to impose — a block on a whole domain, and not just the infringing part of the site."

While I don't fool myself that my mere meanderings are a threat to sway the ignorant and indifferent to action or even constitute an atomic blip on the radar of the Entertainment Industry, I do believe people's freedoms are being threatened and bought by an industry that permeates our daily lives with greed and corruption. So, I rant about it in hopes I can open an eye or mind to the insidious machine that rolls over the ignorant and indifferent!

Micro-Mac - Exponential Potential

Cyberworm's Origins Unclear, But Potential Is Not

So, what happens when you have a very limited number of proprietary operating systems that run and control 99.9% of the computer software and hardware on the planet? What if Bill Gates and Microsoft wanted to take over the world? What if he collaborated with Steve Jobs to combine resources and develop a super worm capable of infiltrating and exploiting covert back doors into every computer network via the system update process? Forget about the National Security level. The real cherry ripe for the plucking would be the private and financial sector. Take down the global financial networks, redistribute the wealth, or just plain erase all data on every infected network. And, when that occurs, complete and utter chaos. A financial information eradication on a global level throwing the world back to the stone age and the barter system. Governments and their enormous bureaucracies would implode, unable to fund anything much less create the redundant and complicated intricacies required to operate.

Obligatory Evil Laugh!

Breeding Ignorance - Hate For Dummies

Ignorance! It truly astounds and scares the Hell out of me that there are so many ignorant people in this country that buy into the Lies, Fear, and Hatred being used to influence and consume them. Shame on the unscrupulous and immoral politicians preying on the naivety of the ignorant, fueling hatred in their hearts and minds, inciting them to the brink of mob mentality to get elected or regain power! Shame on these people, these so called God fearing people who call themselves Patriots, these people that fill their hearts and minds with hatred in the name of America. Shame, Shame, Shame! Freedom of speech and expression is a right, but as with any freedom or right, it should not be abused or used to perpetuate ignorance and fuel hatred! Anybody that is willing to condone this senseless ignorance, hatred and prejudice, does not belong in a position of power or trust to represent the people of America. It's not just a few bad apples either, it's an attitude being encouraged and fed by masters of manipulation with very deep pockets! Sowing seeds of deceit and hate for personal gain. But, in the end, one must reap what they sow and when the crop is ripe they will have to face the reaper for what they have sown. For me, I pity their ignorance and pray for their souls for that is the price of their hate and greed!

Being Social About Socialism - Get Real

Socialism, what does it Really mean? If someone asked you on the street to define Socialism, what would your answer be? Would it be based on what you have seen and heard in mass media, what you have been taught through public schooling and/or higher education, or what you have researched to better understand the political sense of the word? Most people when asked what Socialism means would probably equate it to a bad thing where government runs our lives and controls all we have and do. It doesn't matter what political party an individual subscribes to, they have been programmed with buzz words and definitions via mass media. These messages are viewed and heard everyday through television, radio, or online, to incite fear, anger and confusion. A person may then ask a trusted friend who seems well informed and knowledgeable what they think of Socialism. That friend repeats what they have seen or heard, everyday, via their chosen form of  information. If that friend is truly knowledgeable, well versed, and gives an articulate answer about Socialism, the average person will be bored and sorry they asked because it requires to much thought. And, it would contradict all they have seen or heard everyday at work and at home via the media machine.

I challenge you to Google an image search for "Socialism" and find one positive image or connotation on the first 3 pages. ***Warning*** Even with "Moderate" filters in place the Hate will assault you! Fear and Ignorance abound!

So, what Is Socialism? It is what ever You define it to be in your reality. Whether you define it with your own research, knowledge, or what you see and hear, it truly is what You make of it.

Don't let society define you, you define society! Is that Socially PC? You decide.

Inner-GOP sniping increases in wake of Tea Party successes

They have sipped their tea and now must trip on it! Let them sip more of what the Tea Party has to offer! I'm rooting for the Tea Party to win ALL the GOP Primaries! Party On Tea Party! Give them Tea or give them LSD! Either way it amounts to the same heady brew for the greedy "NO" party trying to regain the wheel of the Caddy they totaled! They have sump pumped Sarah Palin's Tea and drunk it, juiced it up with Joe Miller, and hexed it with Christine O'Donnell. Michele Bachmann has been sipping this brew for years and probably brought the Tea Bags to the party in the first place! In any case, I'll volunteer to serve the next round for this party! Do You Really Know Which Candidate You Are Paying For?

Democrat, Republican, Independent, it doesn't matter which party you subscribe to, You will be affected by this ruling. If getting your candidate elected at any cost is what you desire then this ruling is for you! But, as with anything bought on credit, you have to pay the piper when the marker comes due! Anyone remember the big corporations and conglomerates that we bailed out with our tax dollars? TARP ring a bell? To Big To Fail? Those are the entities that will now be able to spend Your hard earned tax dollars freely to elect a government of their chosing. And who is paying for their government? We, the taxpayers. We bailed them out, shored them up, and now they can spend that money to buy back their power with impunity.

Tea, Scones, And Crumpets - Scary Trio

Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, and now, Christine O'Donnell. Wacky, Wackier, and now Wackiest! What is in this Tea that all these Crazy people are drinking? What does Jesse Ventura have to say about this? There has to be some kind of conspiracy going on for all these naive people to believe the enormity of the manure this trio is spreading! Oh Wait, Jesse has been sipping the tea too! In the 60's this would have been a Communist plot to take over the USA! Maybe that is what is happening? Or, Maybe, it is a new brand of social terrorism unleashed upon the gullible and naive to rend and tear this country in two! And, in this scenario, it appears to be working! Fear is Terrorism and this trio of Wacky Wonder Weasels are spreading it on thick to incite fear and distrust for their personal agendas! Fertilizing all the open mind fields with explosive BS while offering tea leaves to cover the stench of the elephant excrement being shoveled in the brew.

"Yes We Can"

"Yes We Can"! More people need to say it and Believe it!

Boehner and Buddies! They truly are the party of "Hell No You Can't" and this Boner is a shining example of what they stand for! It's no surprise they choose the loudest voice among them to rant and represent their party of obstructionism. Let us not forget they spent Eight years with shovel and pick, furiously digging a money pit of National proportions. And then, when the people had enough of their greed and failed policies, throwing their sorry hind ends out of power, they whine, snivel and cry, yelling "Hell No You Can't" and refusing to play ball until they get their way!

GROW UP! Stop acting like a bunch of spoiled children trying to use schoolyard mentality to get your way! Instead of continuously repeating "Hell No You Can't" maybe you need to have a get acquainted session with the chalk board and write "Yes We Can" a couple hundred times until you can learn to play fair and take turns! IT'S GONE! Cried the Tin Man!

Scientists Find Thick Layer Of Oil On Seafloor

Did they really think all that oil just magically disappeared? Evaporated into thin air or got gobbled up by microscopic oil munchers? Perhaps there is a micro-society living in the ocean that are just as oil dependent as we are, greedily consuming the spill to power their economy as well. That would make it alright, wouldn't it?

A new slogan for BP: Feeding The Microshphere, Oil, Powering Even Our Smallest Neighbors!

And, how much coverage of the spill do you see or hear about on the major networks now? No more 24 hour cameras showing the gusher on the sea floor or news crews combing the beaches for tar balls to analyze and display for the masses. No more oil covered pelicans or dead marshes because once the well was capped everything is right in the world and that doesn't sell advertisements!

In the end, millions capitalized and exploited spill time while the real victims are quietly ushered into oblivion by ignorance!

Women Are NOT From Venus

Spiral Galaxy Like Our Own Shines with Pink Clouds

Astrologers have discovered the Yin of our Yang! Men are Not from Mars and Women are Not from Venus, just as I always suspected! This discovery adds new meaning to the phrase used by so many couples when an issue is contentious or seemingly unresolvable.

"We are galaxies apart on this"

As it now turns out, truer words were never spoken!

A man always knows how to solve an issue, resolution however, adds many unnecessary steps in the process to confuse him. It is just the way we are hardwired. And, Ladies, before you come running after me with pitchforks and torches to burn me at the stake for my "He Man Woman Haters" rhetoric today, remember; I still believe it is proper to tip my hat and open a door for a lady!

911 - The Day Lady Liberty Wept

THE LADY
I wonder what she thought
As she stood there, strong and tall.
She couldn't turn away,
She was forced to watch it all.

Did she long to offer comfort
As her country bled?
With her arm forever frozen
High above her head.

She could not shield her eyes
She could not hide her face
She just stared across the water
Keeping Freedom's place.

The smell of smoke and terror
Somehow reduced her size
So small within the harbor
But still we recognized...

How dignified and beautiful
On a day so many died
I wonder what she thought,
And I know she must have cried.

I Wonder....

Sarah Palin Checks Into Rehab; Last Six Months Suddenly Make Sense

It Really would explain a lot!

Does anyone really, really read this stuff? Or what I write for that matter?

Do I write these meandering missives for my own twisted need to express my opinion about happy or disturbing events transpiring around me? And, does anybody really give a rat's patootie about what I opine? Probably more of the former and less of the latter! And yet, I question why I ponder to write about what I wonder, and wonder about what I ponder!

Bran For The Brain

10 foods to help boost your brain power

Aside from the Curry, I like all of these!

Does that make me "Brainier"? How is "Brain Power" measured anyway? A "Thinkohmeter"? With a "Brain Box"? Or, does someone have to "Brain" you? And, for the record, IQ does not equal brain power or one's ability to "think"! IQ is a bad label applied to make people think they are smarter than others. Nobody in this world is smarter than another, just different!

And, what is "Extra Virgin Olive Oil" ? Does it take two virgin olives to make it? And, is an olive still a virgin after having a pimento stuffed in it, or is that considered a period? How does one or something become Extra Virgin? Does it mean you can lose your virginity once but save the other for later? That would surely solve the white wedding dress controversy!

Give Them The Keys To The Caddy - Again?

CNN Poll: GOP can handle budget slightly better than Democrats

Who do they poll? A select pool of ignorance that forgets exactly how we got here in the first place? An angry bunch of people just sitting down to dinner when the phone rings? Timing is everything and the media knows this, ever stirring the pot with skewed data to make headlines! They are consummate in their ability to herd and move the sheeple hither and yon on the days false promise of greener pastures just over the hill. Biased mass media reigns supreme in today's society, programming and influencing the flock with mindless drivel meant to lull them into docility, allowing them to be fleeced while nodding their heads in a mindless stupor. No need to choose a pasture, they'll do it for you, saving you the trouble of making a choice. Just keep your head down and merrily graze on the words of the herders guiding the flock. Sunday's Offering - A Song

Nickel Creek - The Hand Song

The boy only wanted to give Mother something
And all of her roses had bloomed
Looking at her as he came rushing in with them
Knowing her roses were doomed
All she could see were some thorns buried deep
And the tears that he cried as she tended his wounds

And she knew it was love
It was one she could understand
He was showing his love
And that's how he hurt his hands

He still remembers that night as child
On his mother's knee
She held him close and she opened her bible
And quietly started to read
And seeing a picture of Jesus he cried out
"Momma, he's got some scars just like me."

And he knew it was love
It was one he could understand
He was showing his love
And that's how he hurt his hands

Now the boy's grown and moved out on his own
When Uncle Sam comes along
A foreign affair, but our young men were there
And luck had his number drawn
It wasn't that long till our hero was gone
He gave to a friend what he learned from the cross

But they knew it was love
It was one they could understand
He was showing his love
And that's how he hurt his hands

It was one they could understand
He was showing his love
And that's how he hurt his hands

The Dark Side - Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid!

The Dark Side, what does that mean to you? For most people that instantly brings visions of A Galaxy Far, Far Away, Darth Vader and Star Wars. Closer to home however, that refers to parts of the Internet that most people don't consider or even know exist. For those that grew up when the Internet was just getting started, "War Games" in the movies and "The Cuckoo's Egg" in books were windows into a mysterious and foreboding electronic world where hackers stealthily moved about between ones and zeroes, trying to hack into government networks through the phone lines.

What is a "Hacker"?
"There is a community, a shared culture, of expert programmers and networking wizards that traces its history back through decades to the first time-sharing minicomputers and the earliest ARPAnet experiments. The members of this culture originated the term ‘hacker’. Hackers built the Internet. Hackers made the Unix operating system what it is today. Hackers run Usenet. Hackers make the World Wide Web work. If you are part of this culture, if you have contributed to it and other people in it know who you are and call you a hacker, you're a hacker."

Today, real hackers still move about the internet, undetected, in ones and zeroes but with greater speed and proficiency. Hackers are often mistaken for "Software Crackers", a whole different breed of internet culture and a dirge to software developers and copy right holders.

So, where is the Dark Side of the internet? Do you really want to know and will you sleep at night after going there to investigate? Only You can be the judge of that!

Here are 5 examples of The Dark Side. This is by no means all inclusive however...merely 5 out of to many to cite! And, this doesn't even touch on the threats to our children and youth via chat mediums and social sites which are the norm on today's internet. ( Here is a site all parents should read before allowing their children on the internet )

The Dark Side:

  1. Usenet: *Warning* If you choose to go here be aware it Can be a very Bad place if you stray into the "Alt.Binaries" threads.
  2. In Pictures: The Dark Side Of The Internet
  3. Commercial and Illegal Pornography
  4. Freenet

So, law enforcement and the Justice Department can come on to your property, place an electronic device on your vehicle, and track your travels covertly without a warrant or any kind of justification what so ever?

David Rivkin, a former Justice Department attorney thinks this is legal. He says that a person cannot automatically expect privacy just because something is on private property.

"You have to take measures -- to build a fence, to put the car in the garage" or post a no-trespassing sign, he said. "If you don't do that, you're not going to get the privacy."

Really David? So I can place a GPS unit on your vehicle while it sits in your driveway and track you when you leave? And you would be fine with that? Or, does that only apply to law enforcement? I don't know where you grew up but where I am from that is trespassing and liable to get a load of buckshot whistling around you if you are caught. What part of Private Property don't you understand David?

I am all for giving law enforcement the tools to do their job but they also have to follow the rules, not just make up new ones and then take them to the courts for approval. What's next? Placing monitoring devices on phone lines and cable internet access? They are on the outside of your house and according to this ruling, readily accessible to the public unless you build a fence or post No Trespassing signage. What is reasonably private anymore? The interpretation from a legal standpoint is getting smaller and smaller while the rights of the citizenry are being slowly and nefariously trod upon in the name of justice. In this case they got their perpetrator, but at what cost to the average citizens expectation of privacy and liberties? One step closer to a police state or a safer state to live in? You be the judge!

Perception - What a Concept

What is perception?

Some will tell you perception is the key to happiness, some believe it is an illusion. It truly is all about how you perceive it. Are you able to change your perception of a situation or do you stick to what you perceive to be correct? I believe perception is meant to be shaped, molded into the reality we wish to perceive. An easy task when alone but much more challenging when amongst others that have different perceptions of reality. This is an easy concept to get lost in, pondering your perception of reality. Very therapeutic in a meditative sort of way.

Here are some interesting exercises in perception. Enjoy!

Reality - Make It A Good One!

Web Bot; Myth, Mystery, or Mania?

How did I get on this subject? It was a long and convoluted route that led me here this morning, yet here I am, contemplating an interesting internet phenomenon. Real or not, I like this kind of thinking outside the box. Society stagnates when to many rules and regulations apply to everyday life. And, while I may not agree with everything that fringes out, I like the fact that people are still able to think beyond the established norms laid down by society as a whole. Most of the worlds greatest minds were labeled as eccentric at best and downright crazy at worst. The only bad idea is one left unexplored in ones mind.

On that note I will leave you with these questions to ponder: Was the world really flat until someone dared to make it round? Isn't reality what is left after someone dares to make an idea real?

Meanwhile, back at the think tank, someone dared the pooch to dream!

Blogging For Billions

The City of Brotherly Love  is Showing Bloggers That Love!

I wonder what other crimes are transpiring under the watchful eyes of Philly's finest? Times are tough though and all that lost revenue from the blogging community has to be tallied and collected for future lining of Philly's Phat fathers! I imagine this is going to eventually set precedent for the rest of us blogging billionaires throughout the country. I am So living high on the hog with all the revenue I collect from opining to my massive following of fanatical fans hanging on my every word, opening their wallets and pocket books to show their affection for my grammatical gracefulness! It was only a matter of time before cities and states found out our nefarious plan to get rich and tapped us for their fair share of the proverbial golden eggs! Nothing like goosing the goose for more juice! And, when the goose is tapped out, they can carve it up for Philly cheese stakes! Nothing says brotherly love like high stakes blogger goose on a bun!

Meanwhile, back in Philly Hall, someone is poaching the goose!
