Border Reform

This Is The Border Patrol of the Future

Upset over Border Security, Illegal Aliens sticking in your craw? Now you can do something to help catch the nasty vermin crossing illegally with drugs, guns, and ill intent for our country! I am sorry if that offends some with sensitive natures for Mexico's poor that want to come to America for a better life but, those same people pack in drugs, guns, and even they're sons and daughters to be sold on American street corners to our own brand of criminal. Yes, we are not perfect here either.
Here is another area that could benefit from this type of public border patrol:

Mexican pirates get hooks into Texas fishermen

And, if that doesn't work? There was a reason our founding fathers gave us the right to bear arms! And yet, Mr Calderon has the brass kahunas to come to our country and demand an assault weapon ban on our people! Would he have them defend themselves with pea shooters against the prevalent element of his government preying upon our border communities? Texans traditionally have a low tolerance for this type of terrorist warfare and with good cause. And, this plays out in hundreds of small border communities everyday. Arizona is just a warm pot of water compared to the brewing, vitriol vat seething just below the surface of these communities in Texas. Boiling point is coming!

Proud To Be An American

Long-lost poem reveals soldier's torment

A hidden gem of poetry revealing a soldier's insight into war and it's not so subtle intricacies.

In war, there are no unwounded soldiers.

A Salute To Our Service Members - Fallen and Free

During this weekend of remembrance let us put aside our differences in beliefs and character to honor those that keep us safe on lands and seas far, far away from home! Let us remember the fallen heroes that gave the ultimate sacrifice to ensure we rise in the morning to a bright new day of freedom! And, remember their families sacrifices as well, sending their sons and daughters into harms way to protect us from the bad things and people that most can't even imagine in their worst nightmares. To those that have fallen and those that are serving to keep us free and safe, I Salute You!

Alaska's Folly

Applications for permits to drill in the Arctic won't be considered until 2011

I can hear the whining loud and clear from here! Jobs, jobs, jobs, lost revenue, damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead! At what cost? The BP disaster has proven that should something go wrong at that depth, the ecological price is enormous! Louisiana isn't that far away Alaska and you may want to rethink drilling in your pristine areas by Foreign conglomerates! You could be the next contestant on "The Spill is Right"! Alaska, your politicians are selling you out and when it is all said and done you will be left with a bill of sale for some empty wells and a plethora of polluted pot holes in the Earth. Those dividend checks are nice but only last as long as the oil flows.

Spill Baby, Spill.

All It Takes Is a Good Yank

Yankee Stadium bans the iPad

So, I am sifting through all the clutter big media calls news, looking for something to lampoon or ponder and this catches my eye. Being an avid "Bankee" hater and Apple critic, I think, here's a chance to skewer two kebabs with one spit! Righteous! As I read the article I am scratching my head trying to see the logic in banning the iPad from the stadium and wondering why anyone would bring one to a ballgame in the first place. Then I get to the Yankee stadium security policy. Wow! I am instantly visualizing entry into a prison or other secure, top secret facility. Four sentences into the policy and you get to this gem; " NOTICE: All persons specifically consent to and are subject to metal detector and physical pat-down inspections prior to entry." Oh Boy, a little wand giving me the once over and then a frisk by a frisky freak! Here a Yankee, there a Yankee, Everywhere a Yankee-Yankee! I'm pretty sure I've been violated by the time all the Yanking is done! Now it's time to check my "Junk", reposition what was Yanked, scratch, and Mooooove along with the rest of the herd. Oh yeah, my iPad...it's a good thing they didn't Doo a cavity search! Now I can read all the Crap going on outside while at the ballgame. Oh Boy!

Hey BP - Less Defending, More Attacking

BP executive defends his company's response to Gulf oil spill

Everybody loves to hate BP right now and with good cause. But, they are far better equipped financially and don't have the miles of red tape required to lift a shovel or wipe a rock as would be the case if the Fed takes over this mess. The Army Corps of Engineers is already so tied up in red tape they can only stand by and watch while they try to disentangle themselves. The Coast Guard isn't faring much better. BP needs to untie the purse strings totally and attack this disaster on all the fronts, not just the one creating it. Instead of damage control teams to deal with public fallout and image, they need to get all the "experts" together and get them what they need to address the disaster in their field of expertise. And I am not talking about lawyers and lobbyists. There's already enough weasels and crooks down there trying to get rich off this already. I am no expert but, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see a big fuster-cluck unfolding.  It's going to take some serious leadership and a coordinated effort to clean up this mess and that ain't happening right now. The people are crying fowl, Doug Suttles is fouling the Fed, and the headless BP chicken continues to run in circles like the energizer bunny. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, somebody is screwing the pooch!
