The Anatomy Of Foul Language In A PC World

It No Longer Takes @#$%& To Use 'Foul' Language

Foul language? Just take a walk down a city street and listen to today's youth express themselves! The F-bomb is used almost every other word in a sentence. So, why is "Cajones" making such a buzz? Because it's not PC to neuter the POTUS and have the Cajones to slap them on the Governor of Arizona.

SO....

What is Politically Correct language? And, isn't that term an oxymoron? I mean what is correct in any sense of the words about politics? Politicians spend their whole career learning ways to twist language into new pretzels of "falsitudes" for their political whims. Some of it is even humorous in a twisted sort of way.
I like "refudiate". Whatever my political views may be regarding Sarah Palin, I like the way she views the English language;

"English is a living language. Shakespeare liked to coin new words too. Got to celebrate it!".

Any language is about how well we express ourselves in a way that others can feel and understand. Grammatical Purists will tell you adapting language to better express ourselves is wrong and makes us look less than exemplary. I say to many rules stifle our creative ability to communicate as individuals. Of course if you blather a bunch of nonsensical words together in a crowd and almost nobody gets it, I would say you have failed to communicate in an expressive way All your audience can understand. Somebody, somewhere, however, understands perfectly what you said and wonders why the rest of the crowd doesn't get it. Politicians communicate in a Politically Correct way to express themselves in a manner that maximizes the number of people that "Get It". The ones that don't "Get It" will more than likely vote for the other guy, or not at all.

Where was I? I think I need to go communicate with my Porcelain Throne in a more physical sense than words can describe and anybody cares to know!

Meanwhile, back in the yard, someone is teaching the pooch to speak PC!

ciao

  1. Saying things that only a few can understand is a common wingnut practice. In PC terms its called dog whistles. Something to get the crazies going.
