To All the Cars I've Loved Before

Here are 4 of my favorite cars I have owned and driven. The Mopars are my favorites but the Torino was the first. The Torino would get you to 60 the quickest but the Mopars would go the fastest. That '65 Polara would easily peg the speedo at 120 with a quarter throttle left and would give you a chirpy when you put the hammer down at 120 mph. And, that was with a choked down 2bbl on a 383 magnum police special. The 4bbl and manifold were replaced before I bought the car. It had over 240K on it when I sold it and went from coast to coast and top to bottom in my travels.

Health care reform anger takes a nasty, violent turn. When politicians spend special interest money to fuel anger and hatred this is what you get! The price they pay goes much further than the $$$ they received to perpetuate lies and propaganda. Dirty pockets come from dirty money and there's a lot of dirty hands on display!

Two Ends of the Spectrum

Immigration Reform, what does that mean? If you immigrate legally it means you will pay through taxes to support the illegal aliens path to citizenship. If you are here illegally, it means the American tax payer and legal immigrants will foot the bill for your English lessons, education, and legal hurdles to citizenship. Below are the two opposing sides. Which is better? You decide but, illegal is illegal and amnesty for illegal activity cannot be applied to one demographic of illegal activity and still be fair, impartial, and just.

This is all fine and dandy but, arrest the "Illegal Aliens" at this rally. They are committing a crime just as a burglar robs your house or a con man defrauds the government of your tax dollars. And, they are not Illegal Immigrants, they are Illegal Aliens! "Illegal", as in "Not Legal", a crime on a massive scale is being committed here and a blind eye is being turned. Can I commit fraud, larceny, or tax evasion, and march in the street to protest it even though I did it? Why should I, a natural born, tax paying citizen, have to pay taxes and obey the law when these "Illegal Aliens" can remain here tax free and snub their noses at our system? They are allowed to march in our streets illegally and enjoy the freedoms Legal citizens have spilled their families blood to defend and yet they want more!
If you came here Illegally than you need to go back Legally! If you want to be a citizen of USA than you need to learn English, salute the flag, and follow the proper procedures (AKA Laws)to citizenship. If you want to speak your native tongue, as a citizen that's your right but, learn English so you can communicate and the tax payer doesn't have to foot the bill for 100 different translations everywhere you go! Of course, if you are here illegally, don't bother learning anything, just go back to wherever you came from and then learn English and immigrate Legally! If you want to be an American, learn the National Anthem and respect what it stands for, learn English so you can speak to other Americans, learn the laws and obey them, learn the pledge of allegiance and respect the flag, and finally, if you want to be an American than act like one! If you are here illegally and you trash talk America, protest in the streets, mooch off the health care system, don't pay taxes, go back because you haven't earned the right to say anything here. For that matter, you have no rights so go back and quit mooching off the backs of proud Americans!

Unhealthy Obstructionists

Question; Which party has obstructed health care/insurance reform for the people each time it has been attempted? And, which party has done Nothing when they gained control of the political arena to reform health care/insurance for the working class people? Let history be the judge and follow the money to the real self serving culprits. Maybe if we, the people, remove health care insurance for elected officials and expose them to the same pitfalls as the uninsured/under insured, they will be more motivated to work together to pass something for the people! Why should the people pay for their health insurance while the people either can't afford a decent policy or don't have it at all. It's ironic that the tax payer is footing the bill for health care insurance for the very same people that are keeping them from getting affordable health care insurance! I am tired of the Nay sayers and status quo! I don't want to hear what Can't be done, I want to hear what Can be done and how. If you're not part of the solution than you are part of the problem. And finally, I don't know what "Majority" doesn't want health care insurance reform but, I'm not part of that "Majority"! Lies, propaganda, and political speak are the language of the day and I'm not only tired of it, I'm not buying!

This whole health insurance reform movement is a classic example how The People are being used, abused, and manipulated, by self serving elected officials and their deep pocketed puppet masters! 100,000 voices aren't worth as much to these elected officials as 1 financial mogul pumping millions of dollars into their "war chests" or campaign reelection funds! Been There, Done That!

I have driven on all these roads! I should have been a veteran traveler and part of this article! The Atlanta Loop is definitely one of the most entertaining drives I have made...especially with 6" of snow on it! I would rank the Bronx Expressway as one of the most deadly from what I saw when I was there in 87-89. Rough, congested, and deadly were an accurate description evidenced by the stripped down and burned out hulks of vehicles littering the side of the road. Once, the driver was still smoldering at the wheel when I drove past! Damn near crashed out myself gawking at that one! Montana is great for driving since they jacked the speed limit up. Monotonous, but exhilarating ( accelerating? ) none the less! The Kansas City interchange is an absolute Fustercluck to maneuver and ranks up there with Hartford Connecticut for survivability! On the Right coast stop and go traffic is the norm, on the Left coast traveling 70mph glued to the person's bumper in front of you is the norm. And, if you drive the Chicago Loop be prepared to glue your accelerator to the floor because if you don't you will get run over. Everyone should own a Toyota there because they wouldn't have to worry about sudden acceleration on that road! And for the record, I-40 is great as long as the truckers don't run you over or you take a wrong turn in a pot hole the size of Rhode Island!

A House Divided

"A house divided against itself cannot stand," Abraham Lincoln paraphrases this statement by Jesus in the New Testament in his address to the Republican nomination for president on June 16th, 1858. Don't crucify me for what this speech represented and the analogy I use. Then, as now, sacrifices need to be made by both parties for the better good of the whole. Freeing People from bondage. Health insurance, medical costs, pharmaceuticals, Profit Margin, and Death, are all chains to the current state of affairs in our leadership today. Who wins in this situation? I for one, will be looking to see who stands for what is right, not what is best for their career in the coming elections. Then, I'll remember, always.

Something to ponder regarding health insurance reform:
If you're a "Have" things look pretty good, if you are a "Have Not" things look pretty bad. And, if you are an "In Between", you will probably be broke and die before anything gets resolved.

The true political process as it exists today is a medical removal process. First comes castration, then removal of the spine, the rest of the organs and flesh follow in no particular order until only the skeleton is left to rattle around congressional circles that make a lot of noise but never accomplish anything!

Does anybody really get a fair shake in court these days? When corruption goes this high, if you dig you will surely find its roots at the lowest level. That's a big, tall tree with a long history and a rotten heart! Scary!

Can you hear that scary sucking sound? It's the sound of your tax dollars being sucked into a huge government sponsored money pit! I wonder how much the current CEO's and administrators are making right now! Are they being held accountable for anything or just sucking up taxpayer money while living high on the hog!

"We Don't pay attention to the people, just how to make the industry better"! These were words used by an insurance company exec at the recent insurance company policy meeting on DC. Wow! Now that is arrogant and unscrupulous! We don't give a a damn about you but we do want your money! Just give it to us and hurry up and die....or go away...either way, Shut up and let us run your health care options! For all you doubters out there about health insurance reform, this is real and happening right now! Are these the people you want in charge of your health care options when you get sick....or *Gasp* OLD? The minority and even some of the majority in Congress right now would have you believe that these people are good folk with your best interest at heart! Many Billions are being spent to make them, and you, believe that this true. Follow the money and see how much your Congress person is receiving from this industry to resist change! The cost of delay is in real human lives, destroyed and abandoned because they couldn't afford to have treatments only available to the insured. And, even then, those treatments may be denied by bad and overpriced policies that limit what is allowed by the industry. Wake up America, government run health care may be scary to some but, do you really want the people that just want to make money on it running the show? You elect government officials, you have No control over private industry whose only purpose is to make money and be profitable! Who would you rather have in charge of your health options at the end of the day? If you have to think about it then get your wallet out and hope to who ever you pray to you never get sick and need it...or have very deep pockets!

Mopar Muscle - A Dying Breed

Just a short blurb today about an era of excess and a dying breed of American muscle. The Chrysler 300c, Hemi powered V8. I just wish they would have done less commenting and more sound bytes of the V8 Hemi getting wound up and out in full acceleration! Personally, while the 300c is a great power sedan, I prefer the new retro Challenger R/T for pure muscle and steroidal presence on the road! I just don't understand why they throttle it down for fuel mileage when the thing is built for pure excessive speed and power! Somebody at Chrysler needs to take the neutering jock strap off and let their Kahunas breath! That pony is built to run and needs to be free! Let those Mopar horses loose!!!!!

Breaking News from Metro-appolis/St. Pawlenty

Pawlenty plays politics with Minnesota's poor and neediest. Maybe he can run for governor of Kentucky where he has a like minded political ally! Lawmakers repeatedly tried to approve a 30-day extension this week, but each time Bunning has prevented the measure from passing. Both of these obstructionists aren't going to seek reelection and care naught for the people of their state or country. One of them has presidential aspirations though, bought and paid for by robbing the Northern half of the state while killing the poor and needy. What a great leader to run the country! Maybe he can rob the bankers on Wall Street to balance the Nation's budget! Now that would be a great cause worthy of his talents!

Congrats Team USA

Congrats to Team USA for an Olympic performance to be proud of! Team USA played against a stacked deck and damn near pulled off a winning hand anyway. They were never given much respect heading into the tournament and proved all the talking heads and "Ex-spurts" wrong by going undefeated into the gold game! It's difficult to say the least to beat the home team twice in their back yard and in the end, it was the luck of the puck that decided the game. I suppose congrats for our neighbors to the North are in order too. Congrats Canucks, see you in 2014, another time, another place!

Hey now, Warren Buffet has the right idea here! Make those fat cats accountable where it counts, in their wallet! I'm tired of paying their million dollar salaries while they bankrupt the Nation! Who is bailing us out while we struggle to pay our mortgage and them? They turn you down for mortgage assistance because you aren't destitute or broke enough to help. In order to even qualify for assistance you have to have at least a 35% debt to income ratio and then it is months of red tape to ultimately be told, "sorry, you're to much of a risk for us". They should be kissing the butt of every tax paying American right now, not treating us like losers! Where's our bailout? They resoundingly laugh and fart in our face!
