Wishful Thinking
Wouldn't it be nice if:
Meanwhile, back at the BS pile, the pooch is laughing hysterically at me, Again!

- When a President is elected ALL the people gave him/her a chance and supported him/her as CINC until the next election cycle.
- Everyone showed proper respect when addressing the President regardless of their like or dislike of him/her.
- Congress actually cooperated and got some work done instead of continually whining and bickering like a bunch of spoiled school children.
- You could see someone say something nice about their political peers instead of hate filled rhetoric designed to confound and confuse instead of enlighten and enthuse.
- Being elected to a public service office was a privilege, not a career.
- Political candidates actually meant what they said instead of saying anything to get elected.
- All candidates were given equal time on National media to state their case and then the people voted.

What's In It For ME? Social Ramblings...
"What's in it for me?" That should be our new national slogan! After all, that seems to be what everyone is worried about this election cycle, and everyday living for that matter. Should it matter if those less fortunate than others are without health care or the basic necessities to live? Is it wrong to expect the opulent to help their less fortunate brothers and neighbors? Or, are all those needy folk just freeloaders and dead beats looking for a handout from their well to do brothers of humanity? Government creates programs to help the less fortunate, corporate sector creates grants and donations to do the same. Yet, in every case there is an expected return on their investment. Politicians expect to gain support for election, corporations also look for support for their product or public image. One supports these activities with Tax monies and the other with Tax free monies. Monies, when it comes right down to it, monies are what it is all about. Who has it, who doesn't, and what to do with it to make more while appearing to care about the less fortunate that actually make the monies!
What if everyone worked for the greater good of the whole? *GASP* What a Horrible concept! That would be....SOCIALISM! Shhhhh...Don't even utter that dirty word too loudly lest you be labeled a Socialist and usurper of freedom and all that is to be gained by it. True socialism means caring about your brothers as much as you care about yourself.

Phreaking Phone Freaks on the Verizon
So, I bought a prepaid phone from Verizon for the trip North. I bought $50 worth of airtime via a prepaid card and had it added at the Verizon store by a Verizon representative. I should have had $50 on my phone available for airtime, right? Wrong! Verizon in all their infinite wisdom decided without my consent I needed a $20 a month text bundle, which I found out about in retrospect because I called to see where my $50 of airtime went. In addition to the text bundle I was also informed any unused minutes/money left on my account at the end of the billing cycle is lost if I don't make a $20 payment to my account each month. This is called the "Pay As You Go" plan. When I told them that isn't right their response was; "How do you expect us to make money!" Hmmm, I thought that was what they were doing when I bought the phone and airtime! Not! Also, one other little tidbit they don't mention, and this goes for AT&T as well as the rest of the Prepaid service providers, you only get half the tower coverage for prepaid phones. This of course translates into more roaming fees and about $3 per minute depending on the area. These are just the hidden little weasel words, omissions, and coverage cover-ups I encountered in my brief stint with Verizon and prepaid phone phreaking! Where am I going with this little rant?
Only to say: Buyer Beware! When they say "Can You Hear Me Now" make sure you Really do hear the whispers between the tag line!
Meanwhile, back at the Verizon outlet, the pooch pooped!
